Dr. Kottemann opened two orthodontic private practices in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area upon completion of his orthodontic residency in 1978. Always a proponent of esthetic orthodontic treatment, he developed and patented clear and tooth-colored orthodontic wires in 1986. In 2000, he became certified using Invisalign and has since treated over 1800 patients with it.
Dr. Kottemann started lecturing for Align Technology in 2004. He has presented over 300 lectures, teaching both orthodontists and general dentists. He is currently involved in several research projects with Align Technology, exploring many new modifications of the Invisalign appliance.I now practice with by two sons and an associate.
Dr. Kottemann practices with his two sons and an associate. Together, they run five offices in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
